The City of Plainfield and Mayor Adrian Mapp will host a Youth Summit at duCret School of Art, located at 1020 Central Avenue in Plainfield. The Keynote Speaker is Dr. Marc Lamont Hill, Professor of African American Studies at Morehouse College. There will be additional speakers, and Plainfield youth will moderate.
The event takes place on Saturday, January 16th, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Registration is free, but you may RSVP to plainfieldyouth@eventbrite.com
With a focus on what positive steps can be taken to assist our youth in their transition to adulthood–educational opportunities, job training, conflict resolution, and other topics–this is a chance to hear from Plainfield’s young people.
