Dear friends and neighbors,
The Van Wyck Brooks Historic District is pleased to announce that we are hosting an Old Fashioned Christmas House Tour on December 8th of this year. One of the most important tasks in ensuring that our tour is a success is that of assigning docents to work in one of our beautiful historic homes. We will need two shifts of people working from 12:00PM to 3:00PM and 3:00PM to 6:00PM (for the ticket house the shift hours will be 11:30AM to 2:00PM and 2:00PM to 4:30PM). If you, and any of your friends or family members, are able to assist us we would be extremely grateful. All docents will be given tickets to visit the homes on the tour either before or after completing their shifts, and will also be invited to an after party at the conclusion of the home tours.
When the last tour was held in 2011 there was a total of more than one hundred docents that assisted us and we will need at least that many, if not more, again this year. As you can see this is quite a formidable task, and anything you can do to help us meet our goal would be greatly appreciated. If you are able to support us by volunteering as a docent, please respond to this email (contact information below), and also please indicate whether you would prefer to work the early or late shift. We will do our very best to accommodate your preferences.
